The Friends of Moorfields is an integral and widely respected part of the Moorfields Eye Hospital community. They are a justifiably well known for its network of almost 300 volunteers that provide a range of services to support the work of the hospital.
"For our day-by-day service in support of the work of the hospital we are always looking to recruit newcomers. The office is always delighted to hear from anyone interested in offering help in this way. No previous experience is necessary; full training will be given. Initially contact the Friends' office for a "no obligation chat.
We provide a range of services to support the work of the hospital – including the purchase of clinical equipment – and manage a team of volunteers. Fundraising, membership subscriptions, donations and legacies, together with profit from the Friends of Moorfields shop, fund our services."
If you would like to volunteer or support Moorfields Eye Hospital you can view for more information about volunteering. We are always looking to recruit new people. Our team of volunteers, who work from a couple of hours occasionally up to two days a week, help in the shop, run a twice-daily trolley service to wards and clinics; work on the information desks, help patients with directions and work alongside clinic clerks. Others collect in stations or organise monthly fundraising events and sales.

The work we do wouldn’t be possible without people like you. Whether you’d like to make a one-off donation or give a regular amount, your contribution will help us do more to support the patients and staff at Moorfields.
The Friends of Moorfields are passionate supporters of the hospital and I am extremely grateful for the vital contributions you continue to make. From providing volunteers to help our patients around the hospital to raising money and funding specialist equipment, you make a huge difference to the hospital, our staff and our patients.
